Photos of Antique Singer Sewing Machine by Alex Ramon.
This machine has a patent date of 1886. I have done some research and concluded that this particular antique sewing machine is likely a 1892 Singer VS (Vibrating Shuttle) Machine. I managed to find a decent antique singer owner’s manual online.
When my Grandfather passed away I had the good fortune of inheriting this beautiful antique. As the story goes, my Grandpa used to frustrate Grandma by using her machine to sew his leather accessories on. So he went out and bought this machine to sew his leather with. I think he bought it in the 1960’s or 70’s.
I decided to take some photos of this singer antique to share online. Visit my flickr account to view all of the images. This particular photo session is part of my ongoing quest to wrap my head around the relationship between aperture and shutter speed.
